November 2014

November was very busy with some adjustment for me and Claire as Claire started daycare.  We have adjusted nicely and Claire absolutely loves her teachers and new friends.  Her teachers say she is the calmest baby in the class, which doesn't surprise us in the least.  People keep warning us that their calm babies often turned out to be their wildest children!  Time will tell.  She's perfect either way.

We were very impressed with the photographer at daycare.

Sparkles, 80's and great fun at the neighborhood Halloween party.

Bryn still looks a lot like me.

School fun.

Grandpa's 60th Birthday!

Claire is generally a very stoic baby.  We call this her happy face.

Nathan's birthday!

Bryn and Claire and I had a weekend at home alone decorating the Christmas tree, watching Elf on the Shelf and watching Mickey's Christmas.  It was full of many ups and a couple of downs.

Thanksgiving Day!

Thanksgiving in Coffeyville.

I love this squishy sweet girl.

October

Claire and I had a fantastic time during our last month home alone.  It is bittersweet to write this two weeks into work, as maternity leave already feels like years ago.  I miss her so much, but she is doing great at school.

Here are some pictures of Claire relaxing at home with her momma.  Around 3 months she started to be able to hold her head steady without help and she was much stronger during tummy time.  She doesn't hate tummy time as much as her sister did and we expect she might be more of a a mover.

We went down to Coffeyville for my parent's neighborhood party.  Bryn was beyond excited to go to her grandparent's house and talked about it nonstop the week before and after.  She was asked if she would like to stay there overnight sometime and she wasn't quiet ready for that.  I was happy to hear her say that she still "wants to go home with mom and dad."  (We turned into "mom" and "dad" out of nowhere this month.  No more mommy and daddy, even with some prodding.)

Same picture of Bryn and Claire's first time at Grammy and Grandpa's!

I seriously did not stage this.  You can tell who the second kid is by the lack of caring about blankets protecting from germs.

Emma got her first haircut!  Tegan missed her while she was gone for a few hours.

Fun with Mi Mi and Joyce.

We enjoyed taking walks while it was still warm outside.

Like every other three year old girl, Bryn wanted to be Elsa for Halloween this year.  But, she also wanted to be a butterfly.  Elsa Butterfly it is!  Her first Halloween experience this year was at Nick's work party where she got to meet the real Elsa!  I had trouble not crying watching her face.  It was a cool day for a three year old.  Disney World is a must.

Speaking of Bryn....well....Bryn is officially three.  Below is Bryn being happy with her BFF.  Her BFF actually enjoys her role much more than it appears in this picture.

Now, below is what Bryn now does if she bumps her toe, has a hangnail, is fed something she doesn't like (but asked for 5 minutes earlier), is told she can't do what she wants to do and generally, every second of getting ready for bed and every second of getting ready for school (which does not escape me that is 90% of the time I see her during the week).

This particular episode of threeyearoldness was because I told her that she needed to do better getting out the door without whining or I would take a picture of her being naughty and send it to her grandparents.  That led to the above meltdown--she missed the point.  Eventually, she was required to smile for the camera so we could send a picture to her grandparents of her being "good."  It was really really really hard to smile.  Equally as hard for mommy...excuse me..."mom" not to smile.  She'll be nominated for the Oscars before we know it!

School Fall Festival.  Prior to going, Bryn and Claire and I did selfies where Bryn and I decided to make whatever face Claire was making.

Claire's Three Month Pictures.  She's getting chunky and I love it!

We got to go to Marilyn and John's one weekend and see Great-Grammy and Poppy and Bryn caught her very first fish!

Claire likes her Bumbo just a little.  Bryn of course could not be outdone.

Bryn got to go to T-Rex on a day home with me during the last week of maternity leave.  She was not at all excited about the dinosaurs and the loud noises, but loved the fishies!

Last, some Halloween fun!  Bryn had the time of her life this year.  She held Camden's hand through most of the trick or treating.  It was a little chilly but so much fun with great neighbors.  Mi Mi and Papa Joe came and helped watch Claire, who had on a penguin outfit long enough to take pictures and then enjoyed the nice warm house.
