Snow, Fun with Family and Rock Chalk!

Bryn has had a wonderful month watching it snow, hanging out with her grandparents while Nick and I went on vacation and cheering KU basketball.  She loves to sing the Elmo song, the numbers song and the Rock Chalk Chant.  She will make silly faces on command.  Our favorite is still the sad face but the fish face is a close second.  She has gone from calling Nick "Da Da" to a very dramatic "Daadddeee."   Her favorites things to do during play time are to play doctor on her baby, hide and seek under the kitchen bar, color, read books with or without help, push around her shopping cart and play in her car.  She still loves to make animal sounds and our favorites are the elephant and gorilla/monkey.  I really need to get those on video, as well as the Rock Chalk Chant, but as soon as I pull out the video camera she thinks it is time to watch Elmo and therefore will not focus on anything else.  Her temper tantrums are not as frequent, but definitely occur when she is tired.

Big happenings in the fashion world, I've learned she can be tricked into wearing small bows.  It is not at all important, but something that two very stubborn people spend a lot of time being stubborn about.  She usually wins.  Here is a good example of the sequence of events.  (Bow on, bow off, dirty look to mom, throw yourself on the ground...repeat).

On one snow day when I stayed home with her, I made the mistake of leaving her briefly with crayons.  She was very confused on how I figured out that she tried to eat one.

This is her good friend Ella Schwarz who goes to daycare with her.  These pictures were taken in the first five minutes of the play date.  The remaining two hours were a disaster...all caused by Bryn.  Visions of me refusing to share with Davy Cantrell and throwing myself on the floor when I was forced to by my mom came to mind.  Payback.

Here are some pictures my parents captured when we were on vacation.  Bryn did great with them and Nick's parents.  We did face time on our ipads each night and she didn't seem too upset that we were gone.  We are very thankful to have grandparents we can trust to take good care of her and who love to be around her.

No longer afraid of the tunnel!

Grammy and Pa Pa spoiling her with ice cream.  I think she was a fan.

Good times!

We have gotten to spend a lot of time with our friends Erin, Eric, Blake and Lane now that they are in Kansas City and live less than a mile away from us.  Similar to her friends Owen and Olivia, Bryn does great playing with Blake and Lane and shares much better with them than when Ella came over.  We decided maybe it is because they are older than she is or because she is used to only seeing Ella at daycare.  Either way, I'll take the good behavior!

Decorating cookies with Erin, Brittany, Blake and Lane and playing with Lane.  Good times ahead for these kids!

Bryn absolutely loves watching KU basketball.  Here she is watching KU vs. Roy.  Brittany taught her to high five when KU scored and she loved the cheering and clapping.  She made it sitting in her highchair the entire game and we were very proud.  The attention she was getting from all of the Shawnee moms for her tights didn't hurt much either.  Playing in the Sweet 16 Friday!  Rock Chalk!
