August

Bryn is changing by the minute.  Every day seems like there is a new development where she is less and less a baby and more like a teenager.  She notices everything, repeats everything, and never stops talking.

She particularly loves to sing.  Her most recent song is something about "mommy gone,"  "daddy gone."  I've been very sad about it, but we found out today from daycare that it is her version of a song they sing about parents going to work.  Still depressing, but at least she didn't think of it on her own!

Bryn likes to order people to "sit doowwwn" and the lovely "mine" word is a regular.  She also likes to order "more cold water."   Her daycare wrote us a note saying that "Bryn loves to play teacher with the kids and tell them what to do.  Sometimes they even listen."  In other words, "your kid is bossy and slightly obnoxious."  Later that week, we got a note that said, "Bryn likes to take care of her friends and is the mommy of the group.  When one of her friends was crying today, she came over, patted them on the head and said 'it's okay.'"

Focus on the positive.

Here is a video of her being bossy, working on manners, and rocking a sweet hairdo.

She loves to play tea, but has a hard time letting others play with her.

She surprises and scares us every day with how much information she is retaining.  We have not seen her second cousin Ella since the spring, nor have we shown her pictures of her.  I happened to catch her naming her family on video one Saturday afternoon after coming home from work.  When she saw Ella, she went "awe."  It ended with "My Ella"  "My Ella."  She also names "Great-grandma and Big Poppy," which makes me very happy.

P.S. Yes, I am aware that Nick dresses Bryn like a boy when he is in charge.

We went to a hot air balloon festival early this month with the Morgans and we captured on video one of her first full sentences.  "I see it!!!"  She also dressed up like a gypsy.  Why not?

Some fun pics from daycare.

Getting her back scratched by Great- Grandpa.  She loves going to the farm!

Mi Mi and Papa Joe's Anniversary!

Fun with the Herbel brothers and swimming with the Gonsers.  She latched onto Tim and said "where's Tim" when he would go out to grill.  She also is saying "Tavis" and "Bitney."  We are working on getting her to say, "time to have a baby, Gonsers."
